iEcoLab welcomes our third postdoc, Seba De Bona

The iEcoLab welcomed our third postdoc, Dr. Seba De Bona, in February 2020. Seba is an evolutionary ecologist interested in how population-level features emerge from traits at the individual level. He is particularly interested in the spatial dynamics that arise when a population colonizes a new habitat. While earning his doctorate, he studied how dispersal, habitat choice, and other life-history traits shape the spatial ecology of introduced guppy populations, and how this is altered by evolutionary change. Seba joined the iEcoLab to work on mathematical modeling of the spotted lanternfly invasion. He is aiming to understand and predict the course of the spread in order to provide information for effective management planning.
