Timothy Swartz defended his doctoral thesis last month titled “An Integrative Investigation of Urban Animals and he Ecosystem Services they Provide in Cities.” His audience received an eloquent and digestible run-down of all three of Timothy’s dissertation chapters which he has spent the last 5 years diligently working on. Topics spanned from learning the differences in functional traits of birds across urban landscapes, to understanding how urban birds and squirrels utilize human waste as a resource, to exploring geographical bias in urban ecology research. Some of his work has already been published, so you can read more here!
As Timothy’s time comes to an end at iEcoLab, we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors as he moves onto a tenure-track professor position at Wittenberg University!
