Each year Temple University’s College of Science and Technology recognizes exceptional faculty with several awards. For 2021, iEcoLab’s Dr. Helmus was one of three recipients of the Dean’s Distinguished Teaching Award!
Criteria for this excellence in teaching award include mastery of subject area, development of effective and innovative methods and materials for teaching, continuous efforts to evaluate and improve one’s own teaching, achievements of students, and effective relationships with students. For some examples of why this award was so well-deserved, check out the course that Dr. Helmus developed to teach students R, our news and publications pages to see how Dr. Helmus is getting students involved, and our team page to see the amazing places our alumni have gone.
This recognition comes one year after Dr. Behm, iEcoLab’s other amazing PI, won CST’s William Caldwell Memorial Distinguished Teaching Award. Congrats, Dr. Helmus!
