Tick Talk: Dr. Payton Phillip Discusses Her Research to WHYY

Dr. Payton Phillip, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Georgia and recent PhD graduate from Temple University, was recently interviewed by the WHYY about her research on the invasive Asian longhorned tick. During her doctoral studies under the mentorship of Dr. Jocelyn Behm at Temple University, Phillip originally focused on blacklegged and deer ticks as they spread Lyme disease. However, she began to focus more on the invasive Asian longhorned tick, as it was rapidly spreading in Southeastern Pennsylvania. The interview highlights her important research on the invasive longhorned tick and the emerging tick-borne disease threats!
