iEcoLab and Collaborators presents at 2024 Spotted Lanternfly Research and Technology Development Meeting

On October 16th to 17th, Dr. Matthew Helmus, Dr. Joseph Keller, and iEcoLab collaborators from Temple University’s Mathematics Department, Dr. Benjamin Seibold and Jacob Woods, attended the first 2024 Spotted Lanternfly (SLF) Research and Technology Development Meeting at Ohio State University in Wooster, Ohio. The meeting was towards scientific research about risk mitigation and practical management of this invasive species.

Dr. Keller presenting his research

Dr. Joseph Keller, post-doctorate fellow at iEcoLab, presented his research called “Spotted Lanternfly Spread in The United States 2014 Through 2023, A Multi-Scale Analysis”. He shares, “The conference was a great chance to hear the latest research on spotted lanternflies. It was inspiring to see the combined efforts of researchers from around the country with expertise in so many areas”.

Jacob presenting his research

Jacob Woods, fifth-year PhD student in Temple’s Mathematics Department, presented his research called, “Mathematical Framework for Modeling the Movement of Adult Spotted Lanternfly into Vineyards and Application for Optimal Control”,  at this meeting as well.

Congratulations to Dr. Helmus, Dr. Keller, Dr. Seibold, and Jacob for presenting their research at the meeting!
