Dr. Jocelyn Behm Gives Her Tenure Talk

On Monday, September 9th, Dr. Jocelyn Behm presented her tenure talk to Temple University’s Department of Biology titled “Biodiversity: The Sustainable Development Solution.” In her talk, Dr. Behm discussed her research thus far at Temple and shared her many achievements as a teacher and mentor.

She gave a brilliant overview of her research in the Caribbean Islands and southeastern Pennsylvania, which showcase how she applies a framework driven by ecological theory. Her research spans diverse species and systems, including native and exotic lizards, urban birds and squirrels, ticks, and the invasive spotted lanternfly. Dr. Behm’s work involves both extensive field work and quantitative analysis, which demonstrates her skill as a researcher and scientist.  She acknowledged that her research would not have been possible without the grants she received, the collaborators she worked with, and the graduate and undergraduate students, as well as post-doctoral fellows she has mentored throughout her career. Congratulations to Dr. Behm on an excellent presentation and her many achievements as a Temple University professor!
