Congratulations to Dr. Matthew Helmus, who has officially received tenure at Temple University! Since starting at Temple, he has strengthened his research on the island biogeography theory, spearheaded technological solutions to aid in stopping the spread of spotted lanternfly, developed a course to teach students the necessity of utilizing data to solve global problems through learning to code in R, and mentored and worked with several graduated students and post-doctorates. We hope this next chapter of Dr. Helmus’s academic career continues to be as successful.
