A new paper, Benefits and limitations of three-dimensional printing technology for ecological research, has been posted on the bioRxiv, the pre-print server for biology. Led by Dr. Behm, the paper reviews uses of 3D printing in ecology, and discusses ways that the emerging technology can be used to further research. Researchers in the iEcoLab used 3D printing last year to create lizard models to do field predation testing of lizards in Curacao.
