Yesterday, Nick presented his research on Leiocephalusa genus of threatened island lizards. His talk, “Large species have already been lost: Past extinctions do not predict future loss of functional diversity in a herpetophagous genus of island lizards,” was his first rotation talk as a PhD student. One of the main conclusions of the research is that body size in the lizards does not predict a loss in anticipated species richness corresponding with a loss of functional diversity. Great job, Nick!
