On Friday, members of the iEcoLab visited the Rodale Institute for its annual field day. The Rodale Institute is a research institute and experimental farm in Kutztown, PA where scientists have been studying practices of organic agriculture for seventy years. Among other things, the Rodale Institute is known for its Farming Systems Trial, the longest-running side-by-side study comparing traditional agriculture to organic farming in the US. We enjoyed the day on the farm and hope to apply some of what we learned to our own research in the iEcoLab!
