I am a freshman Neuroscience major in the College of Science and Technology. I have a strong interest in the intersection between science and the visual arts, particularly how scientific studies and data can be expressed via art. I believe that all people should be able to access scientific information in a way that is understandable even if they lack a degree. Ultimately, I want to go into research as well as cartooning as a means of teaching science.
In the lab, I work on identifying bugs from local farms ranging from urban to rural settings. We identify the insects to family, so that we can study the effectiveness of biological controls against pests via natural arthropod predators. We are trying to determine how different landscapes and locations can lend to different biological controls and how effective they can be.
