Briana DiMarco

I am in the middle of my undergraduate education at Drexel University and am currently working toward a degree in Biology and a minor in Ecology. Besides working in Temple’s Integrative Ecology Lab, I also volunteer as a research assistant at the University of Pennsylvania’s Marine Paleontology Lab and the Bioko Biodiversity Protection Program, based at Drexel. I am also a member of the Drexel Sierra Club, which is an organization that encourages students to live sustainably and reduce waste production while living in an urban setting. These opportunities encompass most of my interests that involve environmental, ecological, and marine research, and conservation.

In the iEcoLab, I am assisting with analyzing the DNA sequences of three main lizard species from Curacao, whose tail samples were collected in the past field season. I am also performing literary research to document the years that two particular gecko species were discovered in the Caribbean and South America in order to visualize their early distribution patterns.
